Book the lecture Eget Rum

How to get your own room – Lecture with Alexandra von Schwerin.

Modern women with full calendars still have a hard time answering what they do when they have time off. “What time off? First I’m a mother, partner, daughter, friend, colleague, neighbor, class mother, sister… before I even have time to think about taking a breather.”

Despite reforms, women still take the main responsibility for domestic and care work. Add to this the social media demands for a beautiful body, family idyll and a beautiful home.

The lecture Eget rum is about how you create a breathing space in a hectic life. Not just for the weekend or on vacation, but every day. As inspiration, the audience is taken through history and gets to know women who have managed to create a space of their own.

It doesn’t have to be a physical room, it can also be a change of pace, a breathing space and a rest room. Come home to Tove Jansson’s island and Moa Martinson’s cottage. Check in with Astrid Lindgren who stayed in bed for lunch and Jane Austen who moved her portable desk around to be left alone.

CBT therapist Alexandra von Schwerin has interviewed 50 women about their own rooms. Let yourself be inspired and consider whether you yourself have your own room.
Instead of having a simple instant coffee on the porch, Thérèse Wall always snuggles up to it. Fabrics and natural materials, her own space and the cozy feeling are fixed in a minute.

You will also hear about living women and their own spaces – from the singer Patti Smith to the train conductor in Farsta, via the Queen’s wife and the glove maker in Paris. What do they do there? What does it look like?

Your own space is of course a metaphor for recovery. Research shows how much we have to gain from taking recovery seriously. Not just for the weekend or on vacation. But every day. Discover how you activate your body’s natural cooling processes. Where do you relax? Where do you feel safe? How does it feel in your body? Do you feel like finding what is your own space for you? CBT therapist Alexandra von Schwerin teaches you here how you can get started.
