Agriculture
Skarhult currently has 1000 hectares under plough. The Bråån River flows through Skarhult’s land and the land south of Bråån, also called Skarhult Södra, is leased by the brothers Kristoffer and Martin Björkman.
Nu är skörden inne.
They grow traditional Skåne crop rotation with grains, oilseeds, potatoes and sugar beets. They have their own packing plant for their potatoes and these are sold locally, including in Skarhult’s farm shop. The northern part of Skarhult is leased by the brothers Victor and Eric Larsson. Here they grow fodder, grains, oilseeds and grass seed. 77 hectares are grown organically, including feed for Skarhult’s organic chickens.
The estate is continuously working to expand our ability to irrigate the crops at Skarhult and to be able to store water in a sustainable way. Likewise drainage, with an approved grant from the EU Agricultural Fund, to lay new drainage in the southern part of Skarhult.
